State Library Victoria Forecourt
Melbourne, Australia

Presented by WRITING & CONCEPTS
in partnership with State Library of Victoria
Hosted by Jan van Schaik

Interpersonal intimacy, connection and disconnection are investigated through questioning and the questioning of questions. How do we relate to one another, present ourselves and how are we perceived by others? What language is used, what are acceptable forms of language and what do we reveal to one another in the professional, public and private spheres? Varying levels of openness and vulnerability, irritation and intimidation are playfully explored.

We would like to acknowledge the Wurundjeri and Bunurong peoples of the Kulin Nation as the traditional owners of the land on which our series takes place (Narrm). We acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander sovereignty, and pay our respects to Elders, past, present and emerging.

WRITING & CONCEPTS is produced by Future Tense and moderated by Jan van Schaik, Fjorn Butler, and Ned Shannon. They are supported by each of the host venues, Future Tense, MvS Architects, RMIT’s School of Art and School of Architecture & Urban Design, Melbourne University and ART + AUSTRALIA.
