We are fragile animals, insecure ones that need constant reassurance – we forever desire the reminder that we are loved. And yet the repetition of this phrase can take on many understandings. It can seem sweet, romantic, painful, move into a mantra or it can begin to lose feeling and meaning. The phrase can take on countless forms and, depending on how it is said and the context, it is the emotion behind the phrase that gives it its true meaning. The artwork explores this in the different tonality of voice in the different channels. The phrase is repeated, but nuances occur within each channel, different situations arise in the one’s mind. What is the meaning and feeling of each phrase said? Does it seem real, or theatrical? Is it acting, is it a lie or the truth?
